If you’d like to know about me, my biography tells that story; this page is about the site itself.

Every page starts as a plain Markdown file. Hugo turns those files into a static site, and Nginx serves it from my own Ubuntu Linux server. Changes go to a private prototype copy of the site first, and only go live once I’ve checked them there.

Biography

What brought you to the path you’re on today?
Are you still growing?

Nostalgia sets in when I look back on the path that led me here. Access to electronics, games and computers didn’t just change my life; it changed nearly everyone’s. In the ’90s, a strong pull toward architecture and design gave me the chance to take a different path, but I kept coming back to technology. The architecture still shows in my appreciation of style and art.

HAD TT: One Gate on a Real Chip

A Hackaday Supercon 2025 workshop drawing, one AND gate, and a tile on Tiny Tapeout SKY 25b. Players can also upvote choices others have already submitted. The winning choice is queued into that server’s map rotation, so it loads after the current match ends instead of interrupting it, with safety checks that pause automatic changes if anything looks wrong. It runs as a locked-down Linux service under its own restricted account.

Pyculator Redux

Pyculator, huh, yeah!
